There are a variety of considerations to be made before you make your final choice from the Henry vacuum range. Things like colour, shape, and whether or not it can handle cleaning up after your dog are important! litres dry dust bin capacity, which is a huge amount of space. Wet, the Charles holds 9 litres. An easy-to-operate switch goes between the two. But a host of other splendid adult and child characters rise to counter her sneaky, nefarious ways, and help teen Henry see the truth about her, his war-hero father and who his true family and friends are in post-WWII England. Henry is a film fan and there’s a great deal in this fine story about the films he sees and the cinemas in which they are shown. Cinemas and films were an important part of many people’s lives in 1949 because there was almost no television and not much excitement. So the cinema was somewhere to escape to and large numbers of films were made, both in the UK and the USA. Henry, fascinated by camera technology, has set his heart on working in the film industry when he leaves school in a few months – although there’s a job waiting for him on the railways where his stepfather is a driver.

Henry is struggling to come to terms with the death of his father, a war hero and, according to Henry’s paternal grandmother, all round nice guy. Then Henry mysteriously receives his dad’s medal in the post and starts asking questions — getting answers he’s not always happy to hear. Henry Thomas starred in The Haunting of Bly Manor. The Henry range have tremendous amounts of colour to them – but only one (very distinctive) style. If it has that big happy face, if the nose is the vacuum hose, and if it perpetually, moronically, and frustratingly never stops grinning? It’s a Henry. The son becomes the hero as we see him at school making a fairly superficial relationship with the new girl at school. Mum gets pregnant, father turns up with a (sort of believable) explanation for how he had been thought a dead hero, then the script gets ridiculous. The hoses only give an extra metre or two in terms of extra reach. However, the cord winds out for up to 26 metres, which is the average length a Henry vacuum cleaner can stretch to. If you own a flat, the Henry will be able to clean the whole place without you having to unplug and move. Energy Efficiency

Little by little, the three boys become friends. Henry’s mother, encouraged by Mrs Beaumont, befriends their mothers, gaining confidence in parallel with her son’s blossoming personality and friendship with Grace, a dyslexic girl who is continually being punished. Each child discovers an unsuspected talent. Yet it is the camera that Mrs Beaumont lends Henry which leads to the biggest discovery of all – one that will threaten the lives of Henry and his sister, and which could send his mother to prison.” The book will encourage young readers to question their own views while being involved in a really good story. Michelle Magorian uses the structure and style of books from that period and shifts the sensibilities for a modern audience. Great stuff. The next morning, Henry's grandmother informs Bill over the breakfast table despite Maureen's protestations. Bill believes Maureen has hidden this information because she is ashamed that he is working class and poor. She assures him that this is not the case. Henry runs into his father on the street, who offers to take him under his wing in a nebulous, presumably nonexistent or illegal family business. Henry attempts to apologise to Grace, and Grace meets with Mrs Beaumont looking for advice on how to help Henry. Henry and his pals Pip and Jeffries are also film lovers, where they spend every spare pence, and the reader's treated to a review of period (and earlier) films. To be a film "clapper boy" is Henry's dream.I grew up watching Twilight Zonereruns and the originalAmazing Storieswith my parents,” says Grahame-Smith. "I’ve always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and do it in a way that delivered for kids and adults alike. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of childhoods, and Disney+ has already proven itself as a place that knows how to make high-quality shows for the whole family. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with both of them." This is the story about a boy called Henry, who is sometimes called Henry Dodge and sometimes called Henry Carpenter, so ends up being just Henry. He lives with his mother and stepfather, his stepsister Molly and his Gran (the mother of his father). While he grows up, he is told many tales of his father's heroism and his Gran takes every opportunity to talk down his stepfather Bill and Molly. Only one of the included attachments is designed for cleaning up hair. The rest are normal Henry attachments. Only one of the included attachments is designed for cleaning up hair. The “pictures” were important for a nation still struggling with rationing and austerity. The cinemas were luxurious compared with most homes, and what went on in them is covered in enormous detail. In the company of Henry and his friends, we see such masterpieces as John Ford’s She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and there’s a splendid scene where our protagonists leave the cinema singing “New York, New York” from On the Town at the tops of their voices. The main adjective to describe Magorian’s work is “generous”. She doesn’t stint in any department, being as lavish with her emotions and characters as any 40s film-maker. Adapted by Michael Chaplin (creator of Grafters and Monarch of the Glen), from Michelle Magorian's critically acclaimed novel, Just Henry tells a engaging story about one boy's discovery that will alter his family life forever. Produced by Paul Frift (Instinct, Crooked House, Room at the Top) and directed by David Moore (Monroe, Merlin, Sweeney Todd) for ITV Studios, Just Henry will be filmed on location in Leeds throughout August and will be scheduled this Christmas on ITV1. This ought to be a nice little story, an award-winning YA coming-of-age tale of fourteen year old Henry, set in a not-quite-settled post-war England, learning that his assumptions about people are not always accurate. Yet none of it worked for me. So what went wrong? Firstly, the characters are so simplistic it’s hard to take them seriously. There’s a harassed mum, a bratty sister, a truly nasty and parasitic gran, a working class stepdad studying to better himself. There’s the angelic Mrs Beaumont, who waves her magic wand and makes good things happen. There’s the inspirational teacher, Mr Finch. Henry himself is ridiculously dorkish to start with, before being shown the error of his ways.year-old Ella (Lexi Underwood) is on a school theatre trip when she hears a spooky legend that the theatre is haunted and the dead thespians are looking to grab the living and force them to be a part of their acting troupe. When Ella is separated from the group, she finds herself trapped in the theatre after dark and in the middle of a ghostly drama. Joey approaches the house and borrows a match from an unwitting Bill, who is headed to his night job, and then enters the house and attempts to reclaim his rights as husband and father. Maureen points out that Bill has been paying the rent for five years and is more of a father to Henry. Meanwhile, Henry is totally supportive of his father in defiance of his mother. Henry's grandmother hears the noise and comes downstairs to investigate, declaring it a miracle when she sees her son, who immediately leaves on supposedly urgent business. In Britain the Hoover became synonymous with the word vacuum cleaner. Around about the same time as this was happening (the mid-80’s) was when Henry vacuum cleaners were first making a rise. We will forever have the Henry as a result. What’s the best Henry for dog and cat hair?

Have Questions about Henry, Hetty, Charles, George – or any other vacuums? We may already have the answer… What’s the best Henry for my small home or outhouse? The story cleverly details the attitudes of the time and how warped they were from our point of view while making the point that in some ways those attitudes are still around. The reader grows with Henry in his perception of the adult world.

He offers a combination of a highly efficient Twin-flo bypass vacuum motor and a Powerflo pump system which delivers professional cleaning standards anywhere and at any time. It draws much of its design from the Numatic Cleantec range of professional vacuum cleaners designed to deliver unbeatable professional results every single time. Michelle Magorian is the queen of the Home Front. The second world war and immediate postwar period is her territory, and in this novel she also includes another great love: the films made during those years. To someone like me, who remembers the glorious days of oft-changing programmes and Saturday morning pictures, the novel is a treat. If only there were a DVD of some of the movies attached to the book! As it is, readers must rely on Magorian’s descriptions, and she makes a good job of it.
