About this deal

This is often applied to large areas and hence using the spray version works best. Your other option is heating the grease up to make it softer and then wiping it on as if washing the machinery. Please remember to wash off dirt first for best results Bikes Underside of my land Cruiser had just been renovated with rust removal, paint and Upol stonechip so rust coverage was not a problem. Yes, it can be a little messy but every type of water repellent is messy. If you want full coverage, then you have to get into all the nooks and crannies.

LanoShield is a natural, environmentally friendly product that p rovides long lasting protection and lubrication properties to an endless variety of marine, agricultural, commercial, industrial, aquaculture, aviation, construction and many more uses. One common query we get here at Lanoguard is "How does it compare to ____?". It can't be denied, there are an abundance of different rust proofing and waterproofing sprays, greases and lubricants out on the market. Some good, some bad, some low cost, some high cost. The key question is, how does Lanoguard fit in? What makes it stand out from the crowd? Lanoguard products (and products from our sister company Asset Protector) have been used, tried, tested and approved in a vast range of industrial and heavy duty scenarios. One notable example is the use of our products to protect Dublin Airport’s runway de-icer vehicle. Potassium Acetate (the chemical they use in de-icing) is highly corrosive and therefore any vehicles applying it are very prone to corroding and losing their value – causing downtime for the airport operator and a decreased lifespan of the vehicle. We treated their D1 vehicle, as shown in the photo, and continue to be used to protect a whole host of large vehicles and machinery. I'm finding a re-coat after about 6 months is needed to keep the underside looking good. But that is easy enough, just warm the Lanoguard before use and it will spray easily. No serious prep required just power wash any mud off, let it dry and spray. I keep a hand sprayer, the bottle type, to go round an touch up if needed. Did the complete van, rear to front, including taking out the head lights to do the inner wings, inside chassis rails as best I could, and what I considered covering everywhere excessively and had only used half of the quantity!I've always used waxoyl, some people say its rubbish but if the car isn't too bad to start with i think it does a good enough job for a year, especially on floor pan. But my problem is when something is badly rusted like an axle or subframe then within a couple of weeks its gone. I'm guessing these parts are probably more exposed too. In summary, I'm impressed, easy to apply, goes a very long way, just got to wait until over this winter to see how it goes. We became a supplier of LanoShield – an environmentally friendly, natural, high performance lanolin lubricant, corrosion Inhibitor and anti-seize grease that doesn’t wash off (requires in excess of 200 bar or 3000 psi) originally to add value to our trailer services but now use it for lots of marine jobs i.e. everything that needs water and rust protection including electrical connectors, axles, nuts and bolts, chain, propellers (stops marine growth) etc. I did have a little trouble getting the sprayer to work, but found if I stood the container of Lanoguard in a bowl of warm water it made the Lanoguard runny enough to be pulled up by the spray pump. There is very little prep required, just bush off any loose dirt and start spraying. You can wipe any excess down with a cloth.

It's 12 years old, and as expected, it already had areas of surface rust in places so I started by jet washing the whole underneath as best I could at our local industrial pressure washer on a day when the roads were dry. In summary, LanoShield prevents and stops corrosion. This is a simple, 100% natural, (made from purified sheep’s wool grease) and versatile product that can be used on electrical components and anywhere that you want to protect from water and corrosion it comes in various sizes from single trailer 250ml tubs to 192kg drums of grease and 500ml to 1000l IBC’s of the spray version. This is marine standard and has the highest percentage of Lanolin (the ingredient that actually stops the corrosion) we can provide and make it sprayable. This does mean it works better if stored at plus 10 degrees and it does need to be shaken before you use it.Something like a diff cover for example and you can't start chapping with a screwdriver or in around subframe were you cant get tools in properly. First time using this product so was interested to see how it worked. Previously used Waxoyl to reasonable effect but this can be difficult to apply unless using the aerosol version.

Without the natural properties that lanolin has (bonding to metals and hermetically sealing without the need for a keyed surface) a rust-proofing product starts at a disadvantage. It is typically the case that conventional products cannot be sprayed onto existing rust because they don’t work to push off the rust and seep into the metal below. Without the hermetic seal, it’s also far easier for a coating of any product to easily wash off and not last.

Grease:

Use a rag or a small brush and apply to all U-bolts, nuts, etc. on your trailer. A little goes a very long way. We also recommend using gloves as it is very hard to wash off if you get it on your hands! For commercial use e.g. lathes, chain, farm machinery, aquaculture etc. our tip is to use a little as it goes a long way. Brushing is one method but others include: This entirely natural purified wool grease has a lot of uses and comes in various sizes from single trailer 250ml tubs and sprays to 192Kg drums We were looking for new chemical and electrolytic “nano” coatings which we did not succeed in finding – despite some claims which turned out not to be supported by evidence. We did however find a solution in lanolin – a by-product of processing sheep’s wool for use in finished woollen products. The lanolin is the natural grease that keeps sheep dry and warm here in the harsh British weather and can be put to good use keeping our trailers and other equipment waterproof and resistant to rust and corrosion.

I sprayed as much as I could underneath, including all metal, plastics and rubbers, avoiding the tyres and discs / pads. Environmentally Friendly: Lanolin is a natural and biodegradable substance, making lanolin-based greases environmentally friendly compared to some synthetic alternatives. They do not contain harmful chemicals or solvents that can be detrimental to the environment or pose health risks during application or disposal.I think underseal stinks as a product and actually makes things worse. It should be banned and the company sued. A little LanoShield goes a long way so we recommend using a small brush to coat all nuts and bolts, winch, etc. For the best finish simply wipe of any excess with a rag. Leaving any excess on will obviously not harm your trailer so wiping of any excess is matter of choice and not a requirement! Cars Dinitrol for the exposed parts of the Landy chassis but it can peal and get water behind it and I wouldn't use it on any existing rust even if treated - cos that's a waste of time (treating only converts the top surface of the rust, trust me). We believed that there had to be a better way and, working with leading UK chemists, we have developed a product with a 100% sustainable base of oil from a widely sown crop. So unlike the other products, LanoShield is 100% sustainable and derived from renewable resources. Unlike a lot of other lanolin products we want ours to have no petroleum base added (works as a softener) so we use a widely grown seed oil. This means that LanoShield uses 100% renewable resources.
