About this deal

The tone arm is solid with no play at all and has all the usual suspects, height adjust, a tone arm lift lever and anti skate. If you go with the Str8 150’s you need not worry about the anti skate as it is useless with a straight arm The Pioneer PLX 1000 and ST.150 are both super OEM turntables, and that means both have super study motors. However, the Stanton has been there for years, meaning the performance and efficiency have been tried and tested. When it comes to finishing, pioneer seems to have perfected the art more. PROs & CONs Listing For the preamp, to me the biggest factor is noise. I could always hear some hum or hiss from my phono preamp (with the volume up). I don't worry too much about super-accurate RIAA equalization. I don't think it's too difficult to get +/- 1dB (or so) accuracy. The RIAA curves were originally designed with simple RC (analog) filters in mind. And, assuming your records are from the "vinyl age", they were produced with analog RIAA filters, and IMO a lot of older records need some additional EQ anyway (a little high-end boost). If you are a Serato Scratch or Traktor Scratch user, you’re obviously still going to need turntables One change is with pitch range. The old models had ranges of 8, 16, and 50%. But this has been changed to 8, 25, and 50%. A small change for some, but possibly a deal breaker for others.

The Stanton ST.150 is a turntable that is designed for professional DJs and vinyl enthusiasts. It features a high-torque direct-drive motor which provides accurate and stable rotation for precise mixing and scratching. The turntable has adjustable pitch control, allowing DJs to fine-tune the speed of the platter for beatmatching.

While your typical digital controller DJ certainly doesn’t DJ on turntables daily, consider these scenarios: When it comes to high-quality turntables, Stanton has long been recognized as a reputable brand in the DJ industry. The ST-150 turntable series has gained immense popularity among professionals and enthusiasts alike. In this article, we will delve into a detailed comparison between the Stanton ST-150 MK1 and MK2 models, highlighting their similarities, differences, and overall performance.

hands on it performs well, no issues to speak of. I had to dial in my counterweight all the way to keep the Shure M44-7 performing well. Of course if stanton corrects the counterweight issue this will not be needed. You might be able to find an older used receiver with a built-in phono preamp. But, if you don't need the whole receiver the bulk might be an issue (Somebody gave me their old receiver when they upgraded to "home theater".)When it comes to performance, ST.150 is not the usual turntable. It raises the performance bar high. It has a direct drive motor that boosts the performance to three times, compared to the previous model. Being the most muscular torque motor so far and with excellent electric brake, controlling the device becomes easy. Comes with a head shell (no head shell weight ??). No dust covers and has right angled power and RCA, and a slip mat Deliveries will be made subject to the terms and conditions of the courier company. djkit.com will not be held responsible for late deliveries. This one doesn't have the lamp light and it has some glue from tape in the pic but I will clean that off It is very well-made, as is obvious from the first impression you get. It has a weighted feel that encourages confidence in its performance. So it should, it has an excellent build quality. As most things are these days, though, this turntable is made in China. The Design Adjustable pitch range– Just like with digital DJ software, you can change the range the pitch fader works over, in this case from +/-8% (like Technics) to +/-25% (which is still possible to use for beat matching) all the way to +/-50%! Great fun for the creative DJhas 33 , 45 and 78 RPM. You select the desired speed by toggling through the selections. Hold down the speed button and it turns off the strobe The Stanton ST.150 is arguably the best vinyl DJ turntable that consists of the best and world’s strongest torque motor. With quality and attractive design, the device produced by Stanton “a no-nonsense company,” is among the best quality and innovative digital and analog circuit turntables you’ll come across in the market. Can’t argue with that – although I’d add, every “audiophile” turntable I’ve ever owned has had a straight tonearm, so the sound quality differences must be pretty academic. Most interesting for me is the revised layout, where the plethora of controls have been moved, rationalised, or done away with completely. One start/stop button has gone, and in its place is a 45 adaptor. As a right-handed scratcher, I will miss the power button under my thumb, but for Dicer owners, this is a great move. The Stanton ST.150 M2 and STR8.150 M2 (pictured above) come in a completely reworked design inside and out. They are now lighter and more ergonomic.
