About this deal

It had always been Tabby's dream to work with cats and an inheritance from her beloved nanna has finally made that a reality. Idyllic Castle Street in Whitsborough Bay couldn’t be a better place for pastry chef Tabby to open a cat café with her boyfriend, Leon. Every time I see a blogtour for one of this author's books, I just simply have to read it, even if I have to stay up all night. As she prepares for the biggest move of her life, Sarah can’t help but wonder if Seaside Blooms could be a new beginning for love too?

Tara gets into her car and let’s the map and her pen choose the area. Whitsborough Bay is the destination and when she arrives it just feels just right to her. It took me mere hours if that to devour this book and although it has slightly left me craving some chocolate, I'm in awe of the author even more. I hated her cheating husband. I hated her caricature mother. I hated her friends. I hated the stereotypical sleaze bag rebound boyfriend (yet another caricature), I hated his brother, I hated Stevie. I didn't like the dialogue. I hated the pacing. I didn't gel with the writing - yet this has a 4.5 rating so I think the issue is me.Another Jessica Redland, and another story filled with emotions. This had quite a few challenges for the main character Elise who really had to jump through the hoops for her HEA. It can complement the story and add another layer to it e.g. cosy and warm for a romance book or dark and sinister for a crime story This is about Tara learning to appreciate and open up to those around her. It's about accepting the good and the bad in her past, and being happy with who she is now. It's about the importance of friendship; and making the best positive contribution you can to the world. Scarborough has two bays – North Bay and South Bay – which are separated by a castle on the cliff top. Both bays boast popular beaches but have a very different feel. South Bay is more commercial with arcades, chippies and typical seaside gift shops whereas North Bay has a calmer vibe with the colourful beach huts, the Sealife Centre, Open Air Theatre and Peasholm Park.

Jessica Redland is a course tutor for the Romantic Novelists’ Association (RNA). RNA Learning delivers a wide range of online courses, short workshops and author events. The National Centre for Writing has negotiated a 20% discount for our members for the RNA’s month-long courses. Before I go any further, although this is a sequel, or continuation of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone, as the focus of main character is completely different. As mentioned though there are recurring characters, and I really do hope we will get to know even more of the lovely characters in Whitsborough Bay in the future). Jessica was able to become a full-time author in June 2020 after a career mainly in HR, as a recruiter and trainer, and she is now able to do something she loves every day. An uplifting story of friendship and finding the strength to come to terms with the past. Perfect for fans of Tilly Tennant and Cathy Bramley. If you’ve read my books, I hope you’ve loved the setting and, if you haven’t yet done so, then a very warm welcome to Whitsborough Bay! When the women meet at their local bootcamp, a deep friendship blossoms. And soon they realise that the secret to happiness is where they least expected to find it… And then there are the potential men who could be the ones to help Elise get over Gary for good. They include brothers Michael and Daniel, who couldn't be more different, as well as friend Stevie. Since this is fiction, and of course it wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting a story with just all that going on, there are then some hidden unforeseen complications too, just to really mess with Elise's head. Middlesbrough-born author Jessica Redland has just signed a 12-book deal with Boldwood Books (Image: Jessica Redland)

Born in Teesside in the United Kingdom, Jessica Redland would grow up with a keen interest in the written word. Developing this from an early age, she would continue with nurturing this passion on into her adult life, finding her voice all the while. Over time she would create a brand and approach that was very much her own, allowing her to become the writer she wanted to be. STARRY SKIES OVER THE CHOCOLATE POT CAFE is such an awesome way to get into the holiday spirit! Tara, who owns the Chocolate Pot Cafe, feels like the holiday is the worst time of the year. She always feels even more alone during the holiday and she is sure that this year it will be more of the same. Once you start reading this beautiful heart warming story, you won’t be able to put it down as you find yourself feeling the pain that Tara is going through. Jessica Redland has a way of pulling her readers right into the characters lives, and making them feel like they have been friends forever. Jessica Redland has done it again, written a book of emotions in a superlative manner which had me smiling with a hint of tears glinting in my eyes. The emotions this book evoked showed me why I adore this author. This is the first Jessica Redland I have read (or listened to) and I was not disappointed. I found the characters engaging, and the story surprising. It would be 2015 when Jessica Redland would finally publish her first novel titled ‘New Beginnings At Seaside Blooms.’ This would see her produce a succession of books, many of which would go on to create several long-running series. These would include recurring themes and locations, as she’d largely draw from her own Yorkshire setting to help inspire her.
