In the anime, several plantations detonate to break the walls of the Gran Crevasse. Whereas in the manga, a few detonate but a majority of them are destroyed by 001. In the anime, the partner shuffle was suggested by Nana. In the manga, it was Ikuno and Futoshi who suggested it.

One other prevailing theme or concept of this story is ‘Purpose-Made Humans’, an idea at least as old as Plato. Quite a few plotholes were also fixed in the manga, and i won't say much about the ending, but i found the manga's ending and final arc much more enjoyable as it didn't break the flow set by previous story arcs unlike the anime. Additionally, in the anime, Squad 13 (minus Hiro and Zero Two) discussed Mitsuru getting an Elixir Injection, whereas, in the manga, only Ikuno and Futoshi learn about Mitsuru’s injection. Mitsuru also asks them to keep it a secret from Kokoro, something that doesn't happen in the anime. I found the story to be much better than in the anime, the first half it will not be that apparent other than some changes to specific scenes, but the latter half got completely changed, and for the better. they got rid of virm, which was a good decision because virm did not make any sense in the context of the worldbuilding and came out of nowhere. In the anime, Kokoro cuts Mitsuru’s hair after the first Gran Crevasse battle. In the manga, it was before the Gran Crevasse battle, following the partner shuffle. As for the lead characters, the models we tend to shape ourselves after (Plato talked of this as well), The male is effeminate while the female is masculine. (As of chapter 1 that is) In the manga, Zero Two comments she needs to learn more about humans to find her long-lost darling. Whereas in the anime, she says no such thing. As Delta never encounters the Klaxosaur Princess in the anime, she is not possessed by the Princess as she is in the manga.

In the anime, Zorome and Miku went on to become teachers together but, as it did in the manga, their relationship remained ambiguous.

DitF the manga is a must-read for the heartbroken admirers and fans of the series. Sure, you might not be hearing Haruka Tomatsu's "Daaahrin" or hear "Kiss of Death" when opening it, but the 60 chapters, rushed as they may
