Each Body Wheel has a soft synthetic rubber rim to protect children's fingers and toes, and to prevent damage to the floor. A unique balancing board with a hard surface on a soft inflatable base – ideal for exercising motor control and strengthening muscles in the ankle, legs and upper body, building motor control as well as strengthening muscles. The hard surface offers a grip for the feet whilst the soft base ensures smooth and gentle movements. Since 1966 Gonge has been inspired by the needs of kindergardens and primary schools to create unique creative learning products to enhance learning through the development of fine and gross motoric skills. It was Karen Margrethe Gonge who started in that year, together with her husband, with producing small abacuses and similar educational toys. In 1971 a specific range of items was developed for kindergartens. In the eighties, the company turned from a pioneer into a market leader. By listening to teachers and educational professionals, Gonge grew rapidly and in 1984 they launched the famous ‘Tummelumsken’ which is a red spinning top and today still visible in the company logo. Mini Top invites young children to teeter, swing and spin around – at first with the help of an adult and subsequently on their own. It encourages motor activities which are important for a child’s early development, sense of balance (the vestibular system) and motor control. Through the years, the Gonge products have found their way to many different customers in Europe and the UK:

The Carousel consists of a solid, moulded plastic seat on a steel disc mounted with a rotation joint. A solid and stable metal base with rubber feet ensures safe spinning.

Set of 5 Hill Tops in three heights, manufactured from tough plastic. Designed so they cannot be overturned whilst in play. Each top has a rubber edging at the base which prevent them from slipping and will protect the floor. The Roller is a safe to use balancing product, as the compression of its rubber tyres naturally reduces the speed while making play virtually silent and protecting the ground surface from damage. This is combined with a rubber tread which provides a safe grip and offers additional tactile stimulation when rolling with bare feet. This Roller does not contain sand to help reduced speed. More suited for children aged 7 and over due to the roller having increased speed whilst rolling. The Gonge spinning seat works also for children with autism. Tactile stimulation helps these youngsters with motor planning and body awareness so their brains can better process and organise information. The sensory spinning chair targets the sensory system and promotes social skill development such as social interaction. Parkour is an activity or sport based on movement through an area negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing. Our children’s version of this activity is a fun way for children to develop muscular strength, flexibility, and sensory integration.
