About this deal

Take this from a family of avocado lovers: if you have kids, get them this book and read it together. It is beautiful. It is so beautiful. The drawings are pure art and the story is sweet and beautiful, and it is also deeply meaningful. But even if a child is too young to grasp the deeper meaning yet (which most kids are), the story is still super beautiful. Fully illustrated throughout and full of heart, laughs and surprises, this is the must-read second title in the bestselling and fantastically funny Grimwood series. Nadia Shireen has won awards for her picture books including the UKLA Book Award for Good Little Wolf and most recently for Barbara Throws a Wobbler , whichhas been described as a ‘little doorway of joy’ by Caitlin Moran. She’s also been shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and has been Writer-Illustrator in Residence for BookTrust. Grimwood is her first series for older readers. Perfect for listeners age 7+, and fans of Dog Man, Roald Dahl, David Walliams, Loki, Bunny vs Monkey and anyone who likes to laugh.

Grimwood is where I want to be. A carnival of crazed confused comical critters that is more real than real life. Lots of things make me laugh but Grimwood makes me laugh out loudest.' ― Frank Cottrell-Boyce Nadia was always destined for a career in illustration—as a child, she would doodle on her exercise books, while as a student she would doodle on her law degree notes. Then, when working as a journalist in London for pop music bible Smash Hits, she would doodle all the time on anything. The good people at Smash Hits didn’t fire her for doodling furry animals - instead they let her leave early to go to evening classes in illustration.

Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments Shireen’s latest book confirms her as one of the brightest and best picture book creators working in Britain today ... Sensational.' ― Observer This a great addition to the Grimwood family. This is the second book but you don’t have to read the first one for it to make sense because it has a recap at the beginning.

It all comes into play, when a mysterious stranger grabs Ted by the tail.So this was a cute read 🦊 I initially bought this book because helloooo: it has foxes! ♥️ it even has foxes on the side of the book for the painted edges so obviously I had to have it. Anyhowwww, the book was funny and cute 🥰 Ted and Nancy are loving life in Grimwood and when they discover an unknown land beside Grimwood that appears to offer the most amazing food, entertainment and more, it is appearing even better than ever as they can go between the two and get the best of both worlds but when they find a very sophisticated local coming to claim Grimwood as their own land it is down to the two to work alongside the other Grimwood inhabitants to save their land. I found out afterwards that this was the second book in the Grimwood series but that didn’t bother at all. You can easily read this book without having read the previous one. It was a fast-paced book, delightfully decorated with illustrations fitting with the story. I thought this was a very loveable story. Oh, and also.. Mr. Silver is kind of an ass 😌 Grimwood is where I want to be. A carnival of crazed confused comical critters that is more real than real life. Lots of things make me laugh but Grimwood makes me laugh out loudest.' Frank Cottrell-Boyce Is the stranger a fox? Ted says, yes! but the rest of the animals in Grimwood aren’t so sure. They warn Ted about going out looking for trouble, or as Ted puts it, looking for mom and dad, but Ted won’t give up that easily. Grimwood is where I want to be. A carnival of crazed confused comical critters that is more real than real life. Lots of things make me laugh but Grimwood makes me laugh out loudest.' Ted is one of the inhabitant of Grimwood. He’s an orphan fox. He and his sister were abandoned by their parents in a den in a park in Big City. Ted, while happy living in Grimwood, still sends letters to their old den, wanting to find his parents. The further illustrated adventures of Ted and Nancy, the fox siblings doing their best to settle into their new woodland home, do not disappoint. We meet lots of brand new (and totally bonkers) characters, including a squirrel called Ginger Fiasco, and a stoat called Susan Kidneys, and many of our favourites (hello, Sharon the party crow) make a welcome return. Honestly, this book is so funny it should come with a health warning. ~ Rob Biddulph, Guest Editor September 2022 LoveReading4Kids exists because books change lives, and buying books through LoveReading4Kids means you get to change the lives of future generations, with 25% of the cover price donated to schools in need.
