Some bloodlines are altogether different, like the animalistic Vyrkos dynasty. Talking of which… Radukar the Beast Having a hard time figuring out how to make Radukhar’s Court work. Obviously the points cost is large, and the units take up all of your hero slots with analogous, less effective versions of regular heroes. I feel like with the rest of a 2k list being filled with shambling hordes could work (particularly if there are more command points available in the new edition), but this seems extremely slow moving and difficult to maneuver aggressively. Has anyone found a good use for this massive, 700+ point “unit?” First showing up in Games Workshop’s ill-fated Cursed City boxed dungeon-crawler, Radukar is a vampire lord with a celebrated history. Earning the vampiric touch as a reward for proving his beast-slaying talents, he later invaded Ulfenkarn to liberate the city from Khorne’s grasp.

Soulblight Gravelords Battetome: The Goonhammer Review Soulblight Gravelords Battetome: The Goonhammer Review

Overall I think the negative feelings are based around how much excitement there was for this book. There were people hoping to buy Cursed City to get a start on the army, and people who never wanted to play Age of Sigmar now wanting to get in on it. There was a lot of attention on this book and I wager it was never going to meet expectations. For newcomers coming in, hoping to play some vampires and skeletons, I think you’ll still have a good time. Blood Knights are the next fan favourite. Elite cavalry adept at swift movement and charging enemy flanks, they’ll sit nicely in any Soulblight army, and will be relied upon to deliver the hard-hitting punches. The Kastelai Dynasty makes particularly effective use of them, fielding the knights as battleline units and boosting their damage against Hero and Monster targets. Radukar the Beast is explicitly introduced as a returned, shapeshifted form of the villainous vampire Radukar the Wolf, the Big Bad of Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Despite nominally being killed by the players at the climax of Cursed City’s main quest, we now know Radukar survives, gets hench, and “bides his time prowling Shyish and plotting revenge”. Returned to Age of Sigmar by Nagash’s deathly embrace, Mannfred carved out a little piece of Shyish to call his home, setting up another empire that has all the tropes of gothic literature: tall castles, dark skies, and lots of spires. Populated by undead servants, their decaying flesh is twisted to look like Mannfred’s defeated rivals, completing the ultimate – albeit horrendous – trophy display case.I'm playing Vyrkos and I really want Vyrkos legion to be represented by thematic units, aspecially when they exist. So I'll deffinetly take Vyrkos Bloodborn, Zombie Ogors and Vargskyr. Others are ok, just not interested right now. And proxy Radukar the Wolf as Custom Vampire Lord, because he has right base size of 40mm. If you’re interested in a broader overview of the fantastical factions that call the Mortal Realms home, have a read of our Age of Sigmar armies guide. But if the sight of immortal fiends doesn’t shake your bones, then read on.

Radukar, The Beast Radukar, The Beast

Overall Legion of Night is solid. Not great, but if you like a lot of outflanking shenanigans there can be fun to be had here. Vyrkos Dynasty Some really good synergistic traits here including A Craving for Massacre which includes the old standby of letting a general Run and Charge in the same turn. Power in their Blood lets a General benefit from Might of the Crimson Keep pictures above if they were within 6″ of the enemy that killed a unit, or if you’re in for a once a game hammer, Rousing Commander lets you give every unit within 12″ of the General Bloodied Strength and Stolen Vitality for the phase. You can also build this incredible kit as a mighty Vengorian Lord, a new Leader option for the Soulblight Gravelords. verwhelmed by his wrath, Radukar has undergone a terrifying transformation. The bestial monster within has come to consume the vampire almost entirely, and he now fights with a raw and brutal fury, his ferocious howls ringing through the night. He’s no pal of Neferata, though. The two Mortarchs have a history of jostling for influence of the Soulblight legions. While Neferata sees control as a means of inflating her own worldly power, Mannfred is more interested in earning the favour of Nagash to elevate his lot.

In the centuries later, vast lineages formed, splitting into various dynasties and empires of distinct cultures. Some cherished the deathly powers of Nagash, revering him as a god to be worshipped, while others rejected him, only resentfully supporting his deathly crusade as they were forever cursed to do. All, however, conspired against one another, currying favour with those who would help them, before betraying any ally that stood as an obstacle to undead hegemony. Naturally, we got no hints as to when (or in what configurations) any of these bloodthirsty beauties will actually be available. Some of them, at least, can be expected to drop with the Soulblight Gravelords Battletome, but, since we’ve no release schedule for that either, vamp fans will have to wait for now. Perhaps the rest of Warhammer Fest’s reveal schedule may provide. Description Assembly Instructions for Radukar, The Beast – Warhammer Age of Sigmar (AoS). Soulblight Gravelords. Foremost among them was Neferata. A queen, before the corrupted necromancy of Nagash twisted her mind, Neferata was the first Soulblight vampire. Attempting to replicate the Elixir of Life, she distilled a corrupted version, granting herself eternal youth, immense physical prowess, heightened senses, and magical aptitude, all at the cost of an insatiable thirst for blood. More aggravatingly, however, was her unceasing connection to Nagash, forever compelling her loyalty to the dark lord. Overall, good changes. The old book’s spell list held up surprisingly well and keeping them intact was a good call. It’s helped further by Nagash knowing all 13 spells and given he can cast 8 spells a turn at full health, that is a lot of versatility. Bloodlines

Don't they all have the vyrkos keyword? If so, they don't gain the legion of night keyword even when you field them in a legion of night army, and thus cannot ambush. At least, iirc that's how it works, am away from book at the moment. Nagash does return however he took another points hike pushing him up to 975 pts. His warscroll is identical to the Ossiarch Bonereapers one, although a special rule allows him to gain the Soulblight Gravelords keyword, and he does know all 13 spells in the disciple. Is this worth a 95 point price hike? Probably not. He was already suffering as it stood and I’m not sure if all those spells are worth it. It may depend if everything goes up in price in 3rd edition Age of Sigmar, similar to how the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 worked. Queen of the Avengorii dynasty, Lauka Vai represents all the best features of her vampiric followers: a monstrous physique so warped it grants her the unmatched strength of a beast. Originally a monster-hunting knight, a chance encounter with prime splicer Tzeentch left her a half undead-bat-drake-monster, perpetually torn between the primal instincts of her monstrous half and noble origins.
