About this deal

We also found it was easy to create some basic automations in the app using the Moments feature - such as turning the radiators in the lounge on, while also dimming the map connected to the Wiser smart plug to create a cozy atmosphere of an evening. App Both Worcester and Vaillant offer their own smart TRVS that are only compatible with their products. Advantages Set a unique schedule for each smart radiator valve that blends with your household’s lifestyle and varying routines. With this, you can ensure the baby’s room is at a safe temperature at all times, or the kids’ rooms are warmed up for when they get home from school. The spare room can stay cool when not in use whilst the living room is perfectly cosy. And the best part is, it couldn’t be easier to set up! However once set, it did work, and other than sun through bay windows, which no system can correct, the temperatures in rooms were within 0.5°C once set.

have no minimum requirement for heating controls other than those required at the time of installation. Again you can opt for an advanced control. You may only wish to have the functionality of an internet control. Guide to selecting the right advanced controlsHow do I fully close the Wiser Radiator Thermostat so that I can drain down the radiator to take it off the wall without draining the whole system? Thanks I did this with both TRVs last night. Also put a spot of WD40 on the wee pin to make sure it moved more freely, and they now work Drayton Wiser may be functional, but its plain all-white plastic design certainly isn’t stylish. If you prefer gadgets that make a design statement, this isn’t the smart thermostat for you. In general, somewhat disappointed with the control characteristics of the system, can only describe the radiator stat's action as "on/off" control, can not see any attempt at achieving "proportional" action as was quite normal with the old dumb TRV's they are replacing, radiators are either piping hot or off, no modulated "in between" point.

The Room Thermostat takes priority and Radiator Thermostats will open or close according to the temperature measurement from the Room Thermostat. Any of the devices can be used to adjust the set temperature in the room and this adjustment will apply to all the devices in the room. I'm trying to install and set up a Drayton Wiser kit 1 with 6 radiator thermostats for several days. The heathub turns on the boiler and starts heating, BUT hot water is constantly circulating in all of the radiators. For example I want to heat the kitchen up to 22 Celsius from 18 (only the kitchen), but leave all the other rooms (zones) at 18. The boiler turns on after setting the temp in the Wiser app and starts to heat the water and the temperature goes up in all of the zones. It seems heathub does not close any of the TRVs even if heating is not needed in that zone.

Lounge: Samsung LE46A686, Sony BDP-S350, Windows 7 HTPC, Xbox 360 Elite, Nakamichi AV1/AVP1, B&W 684, B&W 686, B&W HTM62, BK XLS200, Study: KRK RP5, KRK RP10S, EMU1616M, Snug: B&W 685, Yamaha RX-V765 make sure the temperature you set outside of a schedule is low enough to prevent the device from demanding heat when you don't want it Both Vaillant and Worcester use load compensation making the combined TRV and smart control set up incredibly efficient The final component, the smart radiator thermostat, is a white plastic cylinder, which fit to the radiator once the existing valve has been unscrewed. To manually override any schedules you may have set, simply swivel the top of the radiator thermostat right to start the radiator heating, or left to stop heating. An LED on the radiator thermostat glows red temporarily when the radiator is heating, and blue if it's been turned off. Turning and holding the radiator thermostat will also reset or put it into set-up mode, depending upon how long you hold it in that position. Working in the same way as the likes of Honeywell’s Evohome and Tado’s smart thermostat, a module –or Heat Hub – connects to your boiler or heat pump, with smart radiator thermostats replacing any existing TRVs (thermostatic radiator valves) on your radiators, allowing you to control each radiator individually via the Wiser app. There are even additional add-ons that ensure you can also control your underfloor heating, whether water or electric-based, and electric towel rails remotely too.

Yes, when a TRV from another room (lets call it room 2) drop below its setpoint temperature it will call for heat and the boiler will turn on to heat that room. If you only have dumb TRV's in the room with the room stat (lets call this room 1) then when Room 2 is calling for heat then Room 1 will also be heated as it has no way to turn off those radiators while the boiler is on to heat Room 2. The boiler branded heating controls are quite expensive, although the Worcester Easy comes with upto 10 years of manufacturer’s guarantee when fitted with a compatible Worcester boiler Delete the problem valve via Settings - Devices - select the valve - then "Delete". Your schedules etc won't be lost, this just removes the valve from the systemwhen the Hall, living room or bedroom TRV calls for heat it fires the boiler any room that doesn't have a means of controlling its temperature will be heated

The third-party smart TRVs reviewed here all do much the same thing, it is the control thermostat that is the most important choice. The Honeywell EvoHome is suited for much larger properties. All six other thermostats are compatible with the vast majority of heating systems (old and new boilers) and will operate the boiler efficiently based on a learned pattern of when you need heat. Have to systematically work through the zones reducing set points by at least 2 deg's to establish which area the heat demand is actually coming from, usually the area where actual temperature is very close to, within 1 deg of the set point, very annoying! The Heat Hub is a rectangular box with two buttons. One button activates the set-up process, while the other starts the whole system heating. LEDs above the buttons glow green when these options are active. The Heat Hub should be screwed to the wall next to your boiler. The square smart thermostat has a two-inch screen that shows the current temperature of the room it’s in, as well as the desired temperature. It also displays the relative humidity and battery level, and features a flame icon to indicate if the heating is switched on. The centre LED will signal when the batteries need to be replaced. (as well as being view able in the app in settings - devices) If you use the boiler manufacturer's own smart TRVs you only have to deal with one manufacturer for all your heating system productsOther than that I may bite the bullet and get 4 more Wiser TRVs , leaving just the bathrooms uncontrolled. I have started facing similar issue quite frequently and it feels silly that the system which is working starts behaving like that
