About this deal

Oh, I almost forgot lol so the two MC's are comedians and I don't think I laughed once.. overall just really anticlimactic- but I needed something light and fluffy after going hard with Game of Thrones so I guess it served it's purpose.. What. The. Hell. This was hella good! 🥹 This romance literally made me feel single to my bones and I’m still so happy somehow? I loved everything about this book. Age gap (but make it so perfect to the point that MMC is a man, not a 35 year old boy who can’t even deal with his own shit. You can just feel it, he is mature, well mannered, very protective over her I mean overall just a great guy) friends to lovers, fake dating, single parent… this book has everything in it and again you just picture this beautiful rom-com cause you can’t help it, setting is too damn good! Also I’m in love with MMC but that’s not newsflash. He is just my type of guy; he is a reader, a neat freak, very clean, he is not afraid of showing his emotions. Pretty much by beloved ex except his age (and his kid). I mean amen to him 🧎‍♀️ definitely going to keep reading Tarah DeWitt cause she is so damn good! 🧡 WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN???? I loved this book so much. Farley and Meyer went straight to my top 10 fave couples ever. I think Meyer was what they had in mind when they came up with the concept of falling in love with fictional characters. This book has everythiiingggg. Friends to lovers, fake dating, age gap, single dad trope, and a whole lot of representation for the deaf community. Oh my god, I wish I could spend more time with them but the way this book was eating me up made it impossible.

Farley is a 25-year-old, up-and-coming comedian who is finally about to catch her big break. She's fun, loud, endearing, and absolutely hilarious, and at no point did I find her to be obnoxious or annoying. Truly, the perfect comedic heroine. There's also a lot going on underneath her sunny exterior. Throughout the story, you learn she struggles with self-doubt, self-acceptance, and anxiety, but she regularly sees a therapist. I just found her to be so relatable.Children will love recognizing their feelings in Keith Negley’s bold illustrations which accompany a fun-to-read-aloud narrative. Meyer is a 35-year-old, ex comedian who manages Farley and writes for TV shows. He also has a sweet pre-teen daughter, Charlie, who is incredibly mature for her age, deaf, loves to dance, and enjoys attending Farley's comedy shows. Charlie's mother died when she was born, which lead to Meyer quitting stand-up comedy to be a more dedicated, hands-on father. Over the years, he prioritized his daughter and their life together, but in the process, he became isolated until he met Farley. Meyer truly is a grumpy cinnamon roll who puts the ladies (Charlie and Farley) of his life first. So I was so proud of him when he realizes what he wants career and relationship-wise and decides to go for it.

Summary: Farley Jones has an opportunity to take her stand up comedy to the next level when a pair of A-list comedians invite her to join their tour. Her invitation relies on one thing - pretending to date her friend and manager, former comedian and celebrity screenwriter Meyer Harrigan. Sparks fly as they navigate their own feelings among the spin they are creating for the gossip columns. It’s essential that we teach our kids to identify the emotions they are feeling beyond happy, sad, and mad( emotional granularity) so they can then improve emotional regulation as well as general well-beingand mental health now and in the future. (It’s a journey not a destination.) This precious book discussing about different emotions, not only a child, but a person feels. Sad, jealous, happy, excited, angry, you name it. I love how beautifully the authors describe the different emotions and that no matter what we feel, that feeling is valid and it's okay to feel those emotions, even the negative ones. I absolutely adore the main characters, Farley and Meyer. While they are fictional characters, I found them to be incredibly relatable, realistic, and authentic. Honestly, I wish these two existed in the world.I loved Meyer SO much. An emotionally intelligent man that regularly attends therapy and encourages others to do so as well? PLEASE. He’s also the best most dedicated father and it’s so endearing. At first I was a little worried I might not enjoy this book solely bc it’s about a female comedian who loves potty humor, which I reeeeaally just don’t like lol, but honestly it was pretty easy to still stay super invested in their story even if some of her jokes weren’t my typical brand of humor! BEWARE OF CRANKENSTEIN! He’s a little monster of crankiness that no one can destroy! MEHHRRRR!!! He may look like any ordinary boy, but when faced with a rainy day, a melting popsicle, or an early bedtime, one little boy transforms into a mumbling, grumbling Crankenstein. When Crankenstein meets his match in a fellow Crankenstein, the results could be catastrophic–or they could be just what he needs to brighten his day! This hilarious and relatable tale of grumpiness gone awry will turn toddler tantrums to giggles in no time. I think I was expecting more of an unrequited love situation with a fake dating sort of thing that would have resulted in a bunch of laugh out loud funny moments because she’s a comedian… but I didn’t find the book funny at all and the overall vibes were nothing like I was expecting it to be.
