About this deal

Seven days. That is not a long time. You must be better than the others at hiding and maybe, just maybe, you could be the winner! Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me access to the ARC of this in exchange for an honest review, and I am super excited to share my thoughts on this one after having read the novel last year! i was expecting a Battle Royale kind of story, and it wasn't until i had the ARC in my hot little hands that i learned this was a rework of the minotaur/labyrinth myth, an unexpected supernatural angle which forced me to recalibrate—and if i'm being honest— lower my expectations. White pulls no punches in this brilliantly executed thrill ride. Every twist and turn horrified and delighted me in equal measure.” —Erin A. Craig, New York Times bestselling author of House of Salt and Sorrows Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the suspense and thrills, appreciated that I was never genuinely scared, and was pleasantly surprised by the depth and complexity of the story’s main characters.

ARC provided by NetGalley / Cópia antecipada do livro proporcionada pelo NetGalley (review in portuguese and english). Sixteen-year-old Isadora talks a bit like a spoiled California teen, but she doesn’t actually become one until her mother sends her to San Diego to keep her safe. Until that point, Isadora lives in Continue reading » The challenge is simple. All fourteen competitors must spend seven days hiding in an abandoned amusement park from dawn to dusk. There’s only one rule: Don’t get caught. The colours were vibrant and each panel gave the feel of an amusement park, despite its disuse and disrepair. This novel felt lively and exciting and as events became distinctly less so, the panels followed suit. Haunting, startling, unrelenting, and unexpectedly heartbreaking, Hide draws you inexorably in among the thorns and rust, where the monsters are both intimately familiar and horrifyinglyunfathomable.” —Delilah S. Dawson, New York Times bestselling author of The Violencei dont want this to turn into a massive rant, so i will try to keep my disappointments brief. - the direction the plot eventually goes in doesnt fit the tone the novel begins with
