Description

The ONEXPLAYER Handheld is a fully thought-out game console and the Gaming Experience is top-notch. Apart from the beautiful display, you have all the tools you need to get your game on! That’s… about it for upgrades. The RAM is soldered to the motherboard and there’s no way to remove or upgrade it. Fortunately, every configuration of the ONEXPLAYER includes 16GB of LPDDR4x-4266 memory, so there’s no chance of getting less than that. There’s just also no chance of getting more. Can it run Linux?

Battery life, the battery life is around 2 hours actually playing games. Don't expect anything more. I rarely had my switch unplugged because I would play longer than the 3 hours it could at times. I've grown to have the habit to always play this device plugged in. This is easy for me because I only use handheld devices at home for convenience or in a hotel/plane where there is power. The ONEXPLAYER is an up-and-coming Intel gaming handheld PC developed by ONE NETBOOK. A manufacturer of various small-form-factor laptops. Such as the popular One Mix 3 series of business mini laptops, the GX1 mini gaming laptop, and the niche engineering-centric A1. Another great feature with the intel model is the ability to add an EGPU so I plan on setting it up to my TV with an EGPU and couple of Xbox controllers to turn it into a family console. The fact the Onexplayer is a full PC, with all the versatility and compatibility that comes with running Windows 10 ultimately works in its favour. Microsoft's OS can make for a clunky touch interface though, especially when you're just trying to get a game up and running, and it often doesn't feel like the premium solution it should be capable of. It does mean that the full wealth of PC gaming is open to you though, and that's probably worth having to jump through a few hoops to enjoy. For this test we are running Forza Horizon 4 at 1280x720p with the default Ultra settings and a target frame rate of 60 FPS.

The ONEXPLAYER 1S clearly wins in terms of performance, with the two GPD devices coming in second place. However, the larger resolution – while more comfortable to look at – may present a small hit in performance if you want to really make the most of every single pixel.

Essentially every model uses the same i7-1195G7 processor with a max frequency of 5 GHz. As standard each model comes with 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 1TB SSD.

One Netbook’s entry into this emerging space is one of the most powerful of the bunch, with support for up to an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 2TB of PCIe NVMe storage. It’s also the biggest of the bunch, with its 8.4 inch display. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Here is my review of the Onexplayer 1S, from someone who thought about getting this system for months and finally biting the bullet. One Netbook also didn’t bother to add support for automatic screen rotation to the ONEXPLAYER. It may have a tablet screen designed for portrait orientation, but this is a computer that’s only really meant to be used in landscape. There is a Micro SD Card slot for additional storage. And finally there is a USB 3.0 port which can be used to connect peripherals to. Hold the Home + Volume up key during boot (when you see the ONEXPLAYER logo on the splash screen) to enter the boot options menu and boot from a USB device, enter the BIOS/UEFI settings, or open a UEFI shell.

Mouse works really well. So well, in fact, that I barely missed having a touchscreen. Text input using the on-screen keyboard can be a little tedious, but most other things are very easy to use with just the game controller buttons including launching and closing applications, moving, copying, or deleting files and folders, and, of course, playing games. One Netbook says the external graphics cards should work thanks to the USB4 ports’ support for 40Gbps data transfers. And with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5, you should also be able to use wireless keyboards, mice, and other accessories. Running an eGPU setup WILL be prohibitively expensive for most, even more so given the poor availability of graphics cards currently. But it is an option for those interested. [FAQ] ONEXPLAYER Release Date You can buy Forza Horizon 4 from both Steam and the Microsoft Store. 5. Final Fantasy XIV FFXIV’s journey from 1.0 to today is one of the greatest redemption stories in gaming history. Of course, I know it hurts performance, but my main interest is how much, and if you can still play entry-level casual stuff at those power limits. I’ve heard semi-anecdotally that Ryzen chips are able to work wonders inside super tight power envelopes, so I’m curious as to if these Intel chips can keep up in efficiency terms. And for storing your game library, the ONEXPLAYER 1S handheld comes with 1TB of PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe. Experience speeds up to 2400MB/s Respectable Battery
