Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Yuzu peel, Sencha tea (green tea), Gyokuro tea (refined green tea) and Sansho pepper. Six Japanese botanicals cultivated over four seasons, the six Japanese botanicals have been carefully selected to create ROKU, Japan's authentic craft gin. Each botanical has been harvested at the peak of its season to extract the best flavour, and distilled to fully embody the blessings of nature. The harvest of the four seasons has been blended to create ROKU's balanced flavour. In the ever popular Martini, Roku Gin works well as a mixer. In fact, it is the best gin for a Martini. The bitterness almost simulates the inclusion of Vermouth. You can go super dry with Roku and still have a Martini that hits the expected notes, making Roku Gin one of the best Martini gins .

Roku Japanese Craft Gin | Master of Malt

You can try serving Roku Gin in a gin and tonic with a ginger garnish, which accentuates the citrus notes. The first gin from Japan's legendary Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others. Palate Complex, multi-layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. Boozy.ph is owned and operated by BoozyLife, Inc., a liquor delivery service that offers your favorite brands at liquor store prices! Flavor: Rich mouthfeel. Hints of cherry blossom early, easing into mid-palate leafy green tea with intimations of begramot and Earl Grey tea. Slight notes of peppery juniper. Bitter orange comes on late in surprising amounts, leading to impressions of vegetal wormwood.

I don't have a lot of experience with gin, and this is the 4th I've tried, and it's my favorite so far. My previous ones were Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire, and Aviation. Palate: A rich taste that gradually envelops the mouth with the natural sweetness and complex flavour of the rice.

Palate:Complex, multi layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. The seasons of Japan are alive in every sip of Roku gin. Crisp and clean, each sip sparkles with six Japanese botanicals: after all, Roku means “six” in Japanese. Floral notes of cherry blossom are met with the fresh and herbal aroma of green tea. Serve in a gin and tonic, poured over ice and garnished with thin slices of ginger. Roku's botanicals are harvested at the peak of their season, or "shun". This imparts rich flavor, leading to Roku gin winning loyal fans across the globe. I tried mixing with grapefruit tonic but it was overwhelmed by the grapefruit. In a standard gin and tonic I found the flavour excellent although it did need more tonic than normal as it tasted very strong. Overall I enjoyed the flavour but it probably depends on other gins you appreciate. If you enjoy smooth gins such as Citadel reserve this may be for you. In Japanese, roku means “six.” Suntory’s take on gin is called “six” after six quintessentially Japanese botanicals. Firstly, there’s green tea two ways: sencha and gyokuro. Cherry, also two ways: blossom and leaves. These six botanicals are each distilled individually. There’s another eight traditional botanicals bringing the grand total up to fourteen. These four seasons include the beautiful sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter.

I’m not a seasoned gin drinker, but am well versed in vodka. Have only gone as high as SipSmith and many under that level. This one is by far the best gin at this price point. Well done. Roku Gin is the first of its kind, originating from Japan’s legendary Suntory – Roku Gin. This expression of gin is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals that provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons.

All the botanicals are distilled separately to extract their unique characters before bringing all 14 together in this epic gin. I also really like the look of the bottle in my drinks cabinet and it’s taken pride of place at the front :) I didn’t want to open the bottle but temptation gave in. Lovely dry gin with a great finish. I like things simple, a shot and a half with plain seltzer and a twist of lime. Low carb and refreshing, makes a lovely drink.I find it makes a lovely G&T muddled with a generous slice of fresh ginger and Fever Tree Mediterranean. I’ll have to try it with the elderflower version soon, as suggested. The first thing you should look at is the label on the Roku Gin bottle. Often, the print quality, resolution, text and colour is a bit off and looks even more so when compared side by side to the original. Bartenders would be well advised against treating Roku Gin as a mixing gin well suited for all uses. It’s a challenging gin that can be discordant in some applications. Overall Smelling like fresh pine with a citrusy tinge, the fruity floral notes of sakura gently ebbs through Roku Gin and the whiff of Japan through the underlying green tea notes once you take a deep breath gives your palate a refreshing change. There are two variations of Roku gin. One from Duty Free stating SELECT EDITION in a Gold band on the front The other one is available from shops and online. Massive difference between the two.

Roku Gin (700ML) – Kanpai Malaysia Roku Gin (700ML) – Kanpai Malaysia

Palate: Complex, multi-layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. Make yourself a large gin and tonic with plenty of ice and we encourage you to use a healthy slice of fresh ginger as a garnish. Intense bitter perspective?” Hardly. This is is a contemporary dry gin, and had gin originated in Japan, this may well have been a classical style. It’s full of the usual suspects like juniper, angelica, and coriander, but also uniquely Japanese ones like Shansho “pepper,” a citrus with a numbing heat like Szechuan pepper (its cousin). The taste is unmistakable, and dominant. It It’s uniquely Eastern, and tastes like eel with rice on the coast at a summer sunset. It pairs well with a yuzu soda or fever tree, either light tonic (their best tonic) or elderflower tonic, but plain soda and ice are just as well. I prefer it over all other Japanese (export) gins for, while modern in fact, it feels old and well worn, like a gin “should” to my mind. Roku means “six” in Japanese which refers to the six local, seasonal botanicals which complement the eight traditional gin botanicals (juniper, coriander seed, angelica root & seed, cardamom, cinnamon, bitter orange, lemon peel). This gives this type of alcohol a distinctly Japanese character. Japanese botanicals are the sakura flower (cherry blossom), sakura leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sansho pepper and yuzu peel. It's got a very vibrant taste to me. I don't have the developed palate to describe what it tastes like, but I enjoy it, and it'll be my go-to gin, especially at this price point.

A very fresh twist on gin with a great clean finnish . I love this gin and will be adding this to my go to list . I’ve just tried this gin last night and the first drink was a standard gin and tonic and as others have mention the gin has a very sting taste. The second drink I tried it with fresh ginger. Wow wow wow amazing the best gin combo ever I have previously brought this gin for a friends birthday gift, but at the time buying something I hadn’t tasted myself was risky. She did assure me it was really lovely - I can now agree :)
