About this deal

The game is visceral and terrifying, a triumph of design and visual storytelling. There is no story to be found in the game, but I did perceive a sinister scaffolding holding up the various elements of the environment and the player’s journey through its blood-soaked corridors of metal and skin. Inspired bio-punk body-horror aesthetic revolves heavily around the melding of flesh and machinery inspired a la Zdzisław Beksiński and H.R. Geiger. It looks like a dark story of creation. Possibly the most viscerally unsettling games I've seen. It starts with the player character waking from unconsciousness and finding himself enveloped in strange tendrils and half-embedded on the floor, which he then breaks out of. The game's first section comprises of how the player got there.

Scorn’s opening act begins in a factory called The Assembly, a recycling plant that repurposes living things. The Assembly is cohesively designed to efficiently birth, transport, slaughter, and recycle Moldmen's body parts at an industrial scale. Adventure, FPP, science fiction, survival horror, horror, crowdfunding, indie games, action adventure, | Xbox Game Pass, Find Your Next Game It is designed around the idea of "being thrown into the world". Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself. Enfant Terrible: The Homunculi may look like weird-looking fetuses in a jar. But they are much smarter than they look and definitely do not like the thought of being put inside a baby shredder. Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: According to the Artbook, humanoids who fully transferred their consciousness into a Shell would start to transmutate within their armored power armor into something beyond sentience. On the other hand, their short and squat stature, brilliant intelligence, profession of being expert engineers and craftsmen may make Homunculi Scorn's more biopunk equivalent of the Dwarven archetype. Transhuman: If what the Artbook says is true and that the world is indeed Earth, then every single humanoid creature counts as this. Teleporting Keycard Squad: New enemies will crawl out of the walls after certain switches are pulled.

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. COHESIVE “LIVED-IN” WORLD: Scorn takes place in an open-ended world with different interconnected regions. Each region is a maze-like structure with various rooms and paths to discover. All the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels. Significantly smaller archive size (compressed from 18.8 to 12.3~12.8 GB, depending on selected components) From Bad to Worse: The protagonist goes from wandering a wide, lifeless wasteland to a labyrinthine underground that is still very much alive in the worst possible ways.Scorn is a first-person action game combining horror and science fiction stylistics, inspired by the work of Swiss painter H.R. Giger, known, among other things, as the creator of the xenomorph design from the Alien film series. A small independent studio Ebb Software from Belgrade is responsible for the creation of the game. Despite the failure of the crowdfunding campaign on Kicstarter, the developers managed to raise funds to complete the title Mechanics Full-Frontal Assault: All humanoids are effectively naked, but female Moldmen leave none to their imagination, as their breasts and genitals are spread wide open for all to see. Scorn Guy at first averts this, but near the end, one can clearly see his penis, albeit briefly. Scorn’s artbook reveals that Ebb Software originally had bigger plans for the Homunculi. These synthetic experiments were highly-intelligent engineers who could build cyborgs from organic scrap and random junk. Because of their diminutive and distorted structure, they needed these machines to move and function.

Apparently, those weird mutilated fetus-like creatures are actually Homunculi according to the artbook. Makes one wonder if they were still in the incubation process... Due to Scorn’s ambitious scope, the team had to cut down some of its more unique ideas and levels. The first cut location is The Blasted Labyrinth, which was supposed to be a transitional area between The Crater and The Tower (another cut location).Eldritch Location: Most of the game takes place in a strange world where biology and technology blur together.
