Proving there’s no age limit on following your heart and finding love! I’m totally #TeamArthurandTeddy’ Heidi Swain, Sunday Times bestselling author Arthur and Teddy Are Coming Out is a debut novel by Ryan Love. The story opens with Arthur, Teddy’s 79-year-old grandfather, coming out to his children. Teddy has a secret of his own: he’s also gay… Ryan shares a few words below. I just think the author had a great idea but churned out something predictable and without any real depth or meaning. Sadly a miss from me. I loved the idea of this book when I read the blurb, and I was super excited to receive an ARC of it, but I have to admit, I found it really disappointing. When 79-year-old Arthur Edwards gathers his family together to share some important news, no one is prepared for the bombshell he drops: he’s gay, and after a lifetime in the closet, he’s finally ready to come out.

Elizabeth, Teddy's mom and Arthur's daughter, is the absolute WORST, terribly homophobic, and everyone is way too understanding of her homophobia so she never has to show even a shred of accountability for her behavior Eat, Drink, and Be Merry: The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Christmas with the Best Drinks Books On The Shelves Arthur and Teddy Are Coming Out is a wonderful and uplifting read that gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings. It’s a very easy read, even though there are some difficult topics. I’ll mention the trigger warnings below if you want to know. I did notice that at times the story went really fast, and certain things are skipped, which I thought could have been a bit better. And other times, I had the feeling some parts could have been wrapped up a bit sooner.

Come back when you're older

Arthur and Teddy have always been close, and now they must navigate first loves, heartbreak, and finding their place in their community. But can they – and their family – learn to accept who they truly are? My opinion The other characters add real texture. It’s so hard to judge Ben accurately, making him fascinating, and Madeleine is a complete joy. I loved the way Shakeel’s presence bubbles along so that he helps define Teddy in the reader’s mind.

Though the road has plenty of bumps, with painful past experiences of homophobia related by Arthur, and prejudice still having devastating effects in the present, this is a wonderfully romantic tale of two men finding their way to fabulously fresh new lives, with support from loved ones. Covering around a year of their lives, it's full of interesting twists, characters that really pull you in, and a brilliantly crafted plot. I found myself gasping more than once, laughing at some parts and The problem I have with some things getting skipped or not getting enough explanation is that this story, even though it's feel-good, handles really serious problems. They need attention, explanation, and time in this story. So, you can say the pacing felt a bit off.Life is full of sacrifices, Teddy. We'll make good and bad choices, but we shouldn't let regrets define us. I'm not perfect, but I hope when I'm not here that the people I love will remember me for the good things and know I did my best for them. -Arthur I really enjoyed this book it was so easy to read and I think it will appeal to the younger readers because it’s got a modern vibe too it.
