Gina found Ewan easy to set up and get the hang of, and enjoyed the different functionalities, sounds, and colours that he offered. There are lots of things Duncan likes about bedtime --- the stories, the pajamas, the bubblegum-flavored toothpaste ... The only thing he doesn't like is going to sleep. And he'll do anything he can to avoid it. Until one day, Duncan's mom has had enough of his stalling. ?Try counting sheep,? she tells him. So, he does. At first, it's kind of fun. As he counts, each sheep appears, wearing its number like a race car, and leaps over the bed. But then comes Sheep #68, who hesitates. He needs a drink of water before he can jump. Then he has to go to the bathroom. Then he wants to put on running shoes. Will Sheep #68 ever do what he's supposed to? The first twist in the plot occurs when Duncan has everything he needs to go to bed and finally concludes, "but, I'm not sleepy!" Duncan's mom suggests, "Try counting sheep." Using his imagination, he finds that sheep counting can be quite effective.. I will let you read this story to see how the plot changes for the second time. So he does… At first, its kind of fun. As he counts, each sheep appears, wearing its number like a race car, and leaps over the bed. But when Sheep #68, who hesitates. He needs a drink of water before he can jump. Then he has to go to the bathroom. Then he wants to put on running shoes. Will Sheep #68 ever do what he’s supposed to?

He has a Velcro tail that also functions as a strap, making him portable and easy to strap onto prams, cots, or cribs. He’s also machine washable - ideal for the messy baby stage of life. The story is about a boy named Duncan who loves everything about going to sleep, except the sleeping part. He asks his mom for everything he can think of, including a glass of water, so that he can avoid going to sleep. One day his mom tells him to count sheep. When he tries every sheep kindly leaps over his bed as he counts them, except one. Sheep #68 needs a glass of water, a trip to the bathroom, he even suggests that sheep #69 go first. Will Duncan ever get #68 to jump over the bed so that he can go to sleep? One of the main selling points of the Ewan Deluxe Baby Shushing Sleep Sheep is how cute he looks, meaning he’ll appeal as much to babies as he does to tired parents in need of longer stretches of sleep. This fantastic story about counting sheep at bedtime was a hit with our 5 year old, J. His favorite part was when the mother prepares the boy’s room with everything he may possibly need for bedtime. We have finally reached the place where bedtime is enjoyable with J. The struggle is still very real with our 3 year old though. She is very much like the little boy in this book, except our process often involves tears. When the mother suggests to the little boy that he count sheep I asked J if he knew what that was. He said he saw it on a show once but he didn’t know why you do that. I believe the book did a great job of connecting the idea of counting sheep for sleep and illustrating the concept. When we got to the part where sheep number 68 is hesitating to jump I asked J if this sheep reminded him of anyone else. He was able to identify that the sheep was like the boy avoiding sleep. As well as Ewan’s wide variety of noises, which are designed to recreate the environment of the womb, parents appreciate the intelligent smartCRY sensor, which listens out for babies crying and activates when they stir.Hello everyone! The tables have turned in this bedtime story for all of those children who have a difficult time going to sleep. Kerry Sparrow is a literary genius in Sleep, Sheep! who created a solution for the child who needs one more glass of water, different pajamas, needs to go to the bathroom, etc... (why didn't think of it). The fact that the Ewan Deluxe Sleep Sheep is machine washable with a removable control pod is another selling point, as this prolongs his life span and makes him easy to keep clean to reuse for future children or to sell on in the future. Having tested a variety of sleep aids myself, I feel the high quality of Ewan’s relaxing sounds - and his cuteness, of course - make him worth the price.

Touché sheep #68. Way to give Duncan a taste of his own procrastination techniques. Kids should find this funny and entertaining while adults will be hoping that kids catch on to the point of the story. I can just see a family reading this and calling each other on becoming sheep #68 if they’re procrastinating going to bed. Highly recommended to anyone who has to go to bed before they want to or any adults who have to put kids to bed before they want to go. (And of course it is also good for an entertaining read.) Duncan likes the prep before bed... brushing his teeth with bubble gum toothpaste, changing into his jammies, cuddling with mom as she reads him his bedtime story but the thing he dislikes most? He doesn't like to drift off to sleep.
