Why lump along a stove and a separate BBQ when the nifty Campingaz Party Grill 400 CV gas stove can do both? This nifty design is more than just a stove: lift the lid (which doubles up as a wok) and inside there are separate, interchangeable grills, griddles and stove tops to cook on. Unfortunately, it does not have an adjustable thermostat, so users may need to monitor heat levels closely. There is also a blue plastic tray that hooks between the legs, making it more sturdy and providing a small table. Small but perfectly formed, Campingaz's Party Grill 400 comes in a portable package but unfolds into a versatile stove that lets you grill, griddle and fry to your heart's content – ideal for weekends when you don't want to bring a huge BBQ with you, but still want to get creative with your camping suppers.

One clever little camping package that we'd recommend for festivals and camping and campervan weekenders. We found the Party Grill simple to put together, and had the stove set up and lit in just a minute or two. The grill's construction ensures durability, with premium materials used to enhance reliability over time.

Perhaps pouring a tin of sausages and beans onto the hotplate wasn't the best of ideas, but it cooked it well. We already showed above how you can use camping gear to create a 'day camp' for a great picnic, but don't forget you can get the camping gear out at home too. We've had a brief look at the popular Cadac system before, and now there's an alternative: the Campingaz Party Grill.

Although it lacks an adjustable thermostat, its portability and durability make it a valuable companion for outdoor cooking adventures.Overall, both grills were a pleasure to cook on, fast to heat up and a breeze to clean, bringing serious glamour to our campsite. The Campingaz Party Grill 400 is a superb stove, ideal for cooking, barbecuing and offers five different cooking surfaces. This year, with the same half-full gas bottle, and no adjustments to anything, the flame burns more red, and leaves sooty deposits on the underside of all cooking surfaces. If you've got family or friends camping together (or you're just doing an impromptu BBQ in the back garden), the surprisingly compact Campingaz Party Grill 400 will live up to its name and make whipping dinner up great fun, allowing you to grill, griddle or pop a pot on top to cook up a stew or boil water. Get Out With The Kids is packed full of ideas and useful info for enjoying outdoor activities with your kids.

The wok lid is great for frying, and the stove top works well for holding a pot for boiling up water, but our stand-out favourite surfaces were the griddle and grill. We connected the Party Grill to our Campingaz bottle (though you don't have to use it with Campingaz gas, of course) and started warming up the grill. While its compact size means there isn't space to make huge grilled meals at once, the Party Grill 400 is ideal for feeding four or five people. For our first meal with the Campingaz Party Grill, we put it to the test with our kid's favourite Pizzas! This will help provide the family with different meals when camping for a week or more, or even just an alternative to typical camping meals when staying just for a weekend. The bottom half of the grill is a water compartment - you fill it with water before you start cooking so that any grease or yuk that drips through can be tipped away at the end of use. We have shown how to cook pizzas on a Cadac, so we thought this would be a good comparison with the Campingaz Party Grill. At first glance, the Campingaz Party Grill look surprisingly small – but don't be fooled by its compact appearance. All those different surfaces, plus the stove's legs, pack down easily inside the stove, and the wok pops on top and clips into place as a lid. Like with most camping stoves, it's hard to get the Party Grill to cook well at a very low temperature for cooking low and slow, but for easy pot meals, BBQs or cooking up veggies in the wok, the Party Grill proved very effective.
