Chemical scientists have a higher employment rate than students of other subjects, and they tend to be paid more too ­– up to 15 per cent higher in some cases! Our academic year is made up of three eight-week terms, so you would not usually need to be in Oxford for much more than six months of the year but may wish to budget over a nine-month period to ensure you also have sufficient funds during the holidays to meet essential costs.

If your personal or educational circumstances have meant you are unlikely to achieve the grades listed above for undergraduate study, but you still have a strong interest in the subject, then applying for Chemistry with a Foundation Year might be right for you. I would use this book as a resources to plan and deliver: extension material at key stage 3; first year A-Level intervention to help individuals catch up; and GCSE chemistry.

A levels– Entry requirements range from BCC to AAA, with the universities and colleges most commonly asking for AAB. I would definitely recommend the updated version to any student doing a GCSE in Physics in the near future - this book makes a big difference to revision. While college academic tutors primarily support your academic development, you can also ask their advice on other things.
