Description

At some points I thought the story was a little far fetched but it was also enjoyable and kept me guessing to the end. Taking the night train from Marrakech to Tangier in Morocco may not be the most enticing way to get around. If you like the idea of leaving when you want, stopping when you want, and sharing a ride only with your significant other, family, or friends, consider booking a private transfer from Marrakech to Fes.

Although Night Train to Marrakech can be read as a standalone, a number of characters from previous books (especially the first book) reappear, there are frequent references to events in the earlier books and some storylines reach their conclusion in this one. While you have options to either take a bus or fly, a scenic and fun way to travel through Morocco is traveling from Marrakech to Fes by train!Cookies collect information about your preferences and your devices and are used to make the site work as you expect it to, to understand how you interact with the site, and to show advertisements that are targeted to your interests. Colorful, chaotic and steeped in history, the imperial city of Marrakesh is one of Morocco's most popular destinations. This is the third book in a series and although it could be read as a standalone , I heartily suggest that the previous two novels are read first as they serve to give the main characters a lot more depth. So, while the story behind the story was shocking and traumatic, it didn't impact me the way I think the author intended.

Night Train to Marrakech (The Daughters of War, Book 3)

The story is quite fast paced, set in post-war Morocco and involves murder, a disappearance and romance. But her romantic dreams of marriage are overshadowed by echoes from the past – an old trunk of musty dresses; an overgrown and neglected gravestone in the grounds.Emotivamente molto coinvolgente poi, la storia d’amore di Clemence e Theo, una love story che per una volta vede due protagonisti maturi alla ricerca del riscatto e del compimento di un amore interrotto bruscamente. Vicky stayed in a small apartment in the town with Clemence's friend, Etta, as she was waiting for her cousin Beatrice to arrive from London. The plot should have kept me riveted but somehow it just didn’t work… I think that the 444 pages should perhaps have been slimmed down as there seemed to be a lot of padding. Not my normal genre, it had elements of danger, intrigue and tension that kept me turning the pages and the touches of romance were light.

It also talks about the monkeys and snake charmers in the medina which is something I have witnessed myself. Now living in Gloucestershire, Dinah once lived in Tuscany working as an au pair for an Italian countess; she has also lived in a ‘hippy’ rock’n roll commune based in an Elizabethan manor house, but started writing when she was living in a small 16th Century village in Spain.

Fez is a popular destination for tourists, but it can be reached directly from Marrakech in a few hours. Taking around 1 hour nonstop to fly, if you want to book a flight, we suggest booking in advance as nonstops are guaranteed to sell out. Vicky has just received a diploma in fashion design from a London art college, so this seems like a good time to travel abroad before beginning a postgraduate course in Paris.

With thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.Share ThisFes is the Moroccan capital of culture that is bursting with amazing things to do, and once you visit, you’ll easily see why. Meanwhile, we also follow the story of Clemence, who sent her baby (Vicky’s father) away as a tiny baby, for reasons that she wants to keep hidden at all costs. This is book three in the Daughters of War trilogy, but I haven't yet read the previous two books and this didn't stop me at all enjoying this book. The cheap bunks are perfectly adequate, assuming there aren’t any rude or loud passengers in the cabin.
